Despite sociopolitical stability and varous efforts put forward by the government and its development partners, Kenya remains to be among the poorest countries in the sub Saharan Africa and the world in general.
Objective
OVF Kenya aspires to empower poor and marginalized people and to assist them to increase their ability to demand basic services, seek opportunities and utilize local potentials. This will be achieved through networking, infrastructure development as well as training in various relevant skills including information and communications technologies (ICT), sustainable development and various other relevant skill sets.

Multipurpose Community and Unity Centers to
enable the rapid transition from dependency
to economically empowered communities. |

enabling people to make informed decisions reflecting
their goals and interests.

Strategic Plan
OVF Kenya's three year strategic plan focuses on establishing Multupurpose Community and Unity Centers at three locations including Nairobi (Kibera), Kisumu and Rift Valley (Ogiek) to deliver services to people in those regions as consistent with our approach and mission. These centers will have amenities such as a ICT training room, offices, counseling rooms, community multipurpose Hall among other things. The centers will be designed to be self-funding through the development of income generating ventures.

Kibera
ICT Promotion Project - While offering
services to the Kibera one of Nairobi's largest
slums it will also serve as OVF Kenya Headquarters. |

Ogiek Community Centre
for Empowerment - Located in the Rift
Valley, this tribe has struggled with government
authorities as well as surrounding tribes. This
center will seek promote innovative business development
focusing on sustainable agriculture to improve
quality of life in the region.

Seme
HIV/Aids and Life Promotion Project - Faced
with AIDS and other issues, the Seme people have
been devastated. The Seme Project aims to improve
services in the region and create a beacon of
hope for the Seme People. |
