Abayomi Rotimi Mighty, is a Nigerian
youth activist/speaker and advocate who has helped
tremendously in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Nigeria
and in Africa. His story is one YOU MUST NOT
MISS. His work with AIDS education for the
young adults not only has its track record, it inspires
the youth of the world to join him to address this
issue from the heart-based solutions towards the realization
of the greater potential that resides within all of
us. Mighty made a contribution working with Nigerian
President Obasanjo's during the UNDCP
World AIDS Campaign 2001. Mighty is knowledgeable
about The UNDCP as well as the social
psychology reflected in the communities. He is an
asset in Africa's struggle against AIDS.
Through his dedication to fighting the AIDS epidemic
has become a role model. At the April 21 2001
African Summit on HIV/AIDS, Mighty then just
17 spoke before African
leaders with great eloquence and courage. He told
them:
You have the power to change the lives
of millions of young Africans. You are the ones
who tell us to go fight when there is war and you
are the people that ask us to join rallies in election
campaigns. Now we need you to fight with against
HIV/AIDS. We are ones dying and wasting.”
I am extremely disturbed to know that he is deprived
of education opportunities as well as a warm place
to call home. How do we create the platform to enable
the thriving of the creative production of the future
generation when neglect the most gifted? Now we are
at a critical time. I will bring his story to the
world platform to as far and as wide as I know how.
I plead for your guidance in suggesting solutions
that would achieve the highest benefit for all of
humanity. There are countless talented and inspirational
people like Mighty living from place to place without
a home. Mighty's and their talent would be best maximized
in an educational environment and a place where their
work could be put to test in real life scenarios.
Let us come together to support people like Mighty
and ensure that they get the attention and support
they so they the same opportunities that affluent
people in the world have to prosper. There are leaders
like Abayomi who need similar support all over Africa.
Help us to help
them.
