Services
The center as a income generating NGO or social enterprise, will seek to develop ICT and sustainable development related enterprises as consistent with its mission and focus. It is anticiapted that these activities will generate income to help defray the costs of operating the center. IT professionals, entrepreneurs and business executives will serve as volunteers for the delivery of the programmes, and this will help reduce the cost of running the centre:
| |
Cyber café-based services will be offered for individuals using the center. Members will register for a minimal fee to access the center and then charge at-cost fees for such services as scanning, printing, photocopies, and Telephone, Fax, Internet browsing/email, skills development training and entrepreneurial training. |
| |
Wireless network will provide ICT connectivity services for a fee to businesses. |
| |
Local Web Portal will provide access point to local entreprenuers and connect them with Global Clients. |
| |
Building on the practical skills developed at the center a consultancy will be offered to businesses focusing on ICT4D productivity services |
We anticipate upon the arrangement of additional financing to develop a Micro Finance Program that will not only offer loans to small businesses in the Winneba area but also incubate enterprise at the centre by providing them with the use of WDV facilities as the facility expands. Facility resources will be divided into three main sections, for profit cyber café, micro-business incubator and community development services and program development.
Various enterprises may be eventually spun off as separate income generating social enterprises. If there is interest on the part of investors to invest in these social enterprises they may be designed as for profit social benefit corporations.
