Kenya
Vision: To educate the youth
about math, science and engineering.
Project Design and Rationale:
GEI is a cooperative effort of schools, led in
the United States by John C. Ford Program, which
includes OVF Kenya and Ghana. Educational content
is distributed to the GEI hubs via a open and
distance learning program. One of the focuses
of the program is water conservation. OVF Kenya
students recently put together a power point presentation
on Water issues in the Lake Victoria area of Kenya.
Goals:
1. Improve the educational services in the communities
the GEI hubs serve
2. Develop locally based content which can between
shared between the hubs.
Target Groups: Primary and secondary
students
Needs: Computers, other classroom
materials and operational funding to run GEI hubs
and hire teachers. |

Proposal
Name: Unity Center Eco-Tourism Program
Location: to be determined but
presumably centered around the development of
Unity Centers
Vision: To create a ecotourism
program that takes into account local culture,
natural aesthetics.
Proposal Design and Rationale:
With the proper funding the development of Unity
Centers will include living quarters that are
designed out of consideration for human as well
as ecological needs using local materials, solar
and other renewable technologies as well as featuring
organic food. The tour will include both enthralling
experiences in the natural environment, and a
deep introduction to one or more human communities.
The introductions can be as brief as a one- to
three-hour community presentation of culture,
identity, goals, achievements and needs, or as
extensive as an apprenticeship in traditional
art, music or spiritual practices that lasts for
months or years that can be linked up with accredited
academic programs. In between are week-long drumming
workshops, and stays in family homes of one day
to a month in duration.
Goals:
1. Promoting eco-living and sustainable development
2. Expand economic opportunities for Africans,
by providing earnings to support the development
of local economy.
3. preserve local cultural and ecological resources
for future generations
Target Groups: African diaspora,
socially conscious consumers

Project Name:
Jukwa Farmers Coop
Location: Jukwa, Ghana
Vision:
A thriving market in Africa to produce
healthy food sustainably.
Project Design and Rationale:
Work
with rural and semi-urban communities in identifying
economically viable organic farming operations.
We are identifying global organic farming network
and technology to build the model for self-sustaining
community living. By sustaining the small communities,
many of them are in the rural areas in the developing
countries, migration from the rural area to urban
area would be corrected which will contribute
into the balance growth of the human evolution.
Goals:
1. Provide a livelihood for local farmers using
the land sustainably while providing healthy food.
2. Expand to other communities in the oneVillage
Foundation network, identifying where ecological
devastation is occurring and organizing communities
to bring and end to those practices and restore
the land - restorative economics.
3. Teach villagers and farmers how to market traditionally-produced
crops as organic, and how to do the record keeping
necessary for organic certification.
Target Groups: African Farmers
Needs: Modern equipment for
farming |

Name: Community Knowledge Development
System
Vision: Field Agents linked
up through a global ICT network that effectively
mobilizes the world community to address world
urgent issues.
Location: Pilot projects to
located in unspecified communities throughout
Africa.
Project Design and Rationale:
A central part of the oneVillage Initiative will
be the development of a mobile ICT network, linked
real time, electronically in the field. We propose
an experiment to test out our hypothesis that
giving people in the field real time connections
will leading to a rapid increase in innovation
and economic development. The ICT field agent
teams will function as collectors, preliminary
processors and retrievers of information from
knowledge bases as well as human networks.
Goals:
1. Integrate local development projects with ICT
2. Provide practical ICT solutions for underserved
communities.
Target Groups: People in underserved
communities.
Needs: Funding for Knowledge
design, organization and implementation through
field agent teams on the ground.

Project
Name: AIDS Relief Portal
Vision: A global network that
effectively mobilizes the world community in the
fight against AIDS.
Location: The web
Project Design and Rationale: The
project is committed to local ownership and leadership,
while leveraging a global network of resources.
It recognizes the strength of the human network,
facilitating bottom-up development by on-the-ground
NGOs and top-down support from corporate and private
funders.
Potential donors will be able to easily get involved
in various ways, donating time, money, services
and goods, and also stay current with non-profit
organization (NPO) happenings. A real-time tracking
system will help donors monitor their donations
and the beneficiaries thereof in other
words, follow how much has been given and what
has been done with it. The site presents the innovative
use of ICT to ensure accountability, transparency
and efficiency in the Aid community.
Goals:
1. Facilitate involvement in, and raise awareness
about, HIV/AIDS relief.
2. Help showcase the efforts of organizations
working to overcome AIDS. so that they receive
the resources they need, by matching willing donors
with responsible recipients.
