Dedicated to the unity and healing of the human family, the oneVillage Foundation
(OVF) has identified the critical leverage points
that promote the rapid replication of sustainable systems
around the world. The oneVillage Initiative
(OVI) addresses end-to-end human services
for community prosperity for not just survival but long
term community prosperity.
OVF has created a framework designed to involve
people from around the globe to support the formation
of sustainable communities (Unity
Center ecovillages). This network through
the effective use of ICT and other approaches and technologies
will promote and facilitate the sharing of Knowledge
upholding and reflecting the highest version of each
individual's growth.
oneVillage Initiative Methodology
OVI is about holistic
ICT development for community prosperity.
The framework and strategies have been designed to involve
people from around the globe to support. The Initiative
has two main components: the ICT augmented support network
and the ICT augmented Community Knowledge Delivery
System/Team (CKDS). The CKDS is made up of
what we call field agents. These agents
will be trained to help local people organize their
efforts at community development.
OVI goals include:
1. Formation of 'dignified digital communities'
empowered by a platform called ICT (Information Communication
Technology),
2. Accumulation and exchange of knowledge to uphold
and reflect the highest version of each individual's
growth.
Whole Systems Approach
The Onevillage Initiative is designed to introduce programs
that are integrated with each other. Health, education,
clean water, nutrition and other services will have
multiple functions and also synergistic
benefits that go beyond the specific area of focus or
interest. This is what we call the multiplier
effect. Businesses developed along the oneVillage
Initiative will provide a higher return on investment,
because the services each component program provides
will also help other parts of the community function
more effectively.
Holistic ICT for Development
Holistic ICT for Development takes the overall whole
system approach of OVI and applies to ICT. The theme
is that holistic ICT aguments holistic community development
that is more conscious of not only the local impact
but global impacts of many local actions multiplied
exponentially aroundt the globe. Holistic ICT will function
more seamlessly than existing ICT to provide efficient
delivery of necessary services for under-served communities.
Community Asset Based Development
Areas of need are determined by a multi-step process
involving intensive community building sessions
in the areas of focus. Work revolves around perceived
areas of need by the participating communities rather
than any preset formula.
OVF Pie
We have developed a pie diagram - the OVF Mandala.
It has a series of pie slices that are called Pillars.
Each Pillar represents a key part of
what we have identified as a key area of need in any
human social system. Field Agents”
who are deployed to implement the Unity Center in a
particular region can use the diagram as a map to identify
existing assets as well as various actions/strategies
to improve on the productivity of those assets in terms
of delivering value to the local community.
ICT enabled Social Networks Support
Initiatives and Field Agent Implemters from Afar
The framework and strategies have been designed to involve
people from around the globe to support the formation
of a sustainable global society through ICT. Experts
in core areas identified as vital to development of
Unity Centers and expansion of the Initiatives outside
of the UC and into the larger surrounding communities
will be used to coach and train facilitate agent on
how to apply best practices suitable to local conditions,
preferences and needs.
Trust Leads to Unity; together they Create
Prosperity
It takes each heart, in unity, to care for
our children and their children. It will take the people
of the world, working together, to restore the human
heritage of community, love, and meaning. The efforts
of many working in harmony realize much greater short
and long-term gains than the efforts of many working
disparately. As the community's individual and collective
vitality is restored, people can and naturally do begin
to address their most pressing needs, discussing them,
identifying solutions, and working together to build
on what already exists. It will take the people of the
world, working together, to restore the human heritage
of community, love, and meaning.
