Clare Hedin is dedicated to World Peace and
Harmony amongst all species.
An active musician and singer/songwriter, one of Clare's main sources of connection to community is through music as a transformative, peace-resonating and contemplative act. Her focus is on integration, with attention to 'what is'.
Currently studying Consciousness Studies at JFK University, in Orinda, at the Masters Level, she is also a student of Cosmology and Philosophy at CIIS, SF, CA, where she previously attained her BA in Integral Studies (music, fine art, liberal arts).
As a teacher, she is innovative and thoughtful, using her intuition and her classical training to bring out the best in people, technically, emotionally and spiritually. She sees music as the sonic architecture of the universe and has done substantial research into the area of harmonics and interrelatedness amongst plant and animal life as well as human. She seeks unity and a better understanding of relationship in order to promote a deeper respect for the Earth and all its inhabitants, that we might understand ourselves, our capacities and our role better. She believes that with understanding comes compassion and with compassion comes peace.
Having grown up in England, she moved to USA in the early 90's in order to explore creativity and to do research, and is finding that it is possible to create a different universe, one where people play more, think deeply and appreciate.
She has a professional background in Investment Banking, Law, Media and the Music Industry and has volunteered much of her time to teach English literacy to adults; playing music regularly at the Oakland Children's Hospital (as well as other places) and singing with the Threshold Choir (a group of women that reside at the beds of dying ones, singing together in love, in order to facilitate and ease their passing). She has also volunteered on a regular basis at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, facilitating dialogue between inner city children and the contemporary art on display each week.
She has deep faith in the possibility for, and process of, change. She sees this as a collaborative act and a creative one, and takes pleasure in her dedication to facilitating a growing awareness amongst us, and therefore a claiming, of our greatest potential and of our deepest joy.
With thanks.
