OVF USA Mission
OVF USA's mission is to work towards the development
of a integrated global network that is designed to
benefit all of humanity. There are three main components
to this:
|
|
|
Conceptual--communication
of message through conferences and consulting
to NGOs, governments and businesses |
|
|
|
Virtual--online
communications systems and networks |
|
|
|
Physical--through
the construction of functioning sustainable
communities that represent prototype models
for the realization of the dream of the sustainable
society |
These components will be integrated into a program
focused on the construction of a Unity
Center. Unity Center is a concept that
unifies our operations in each of our countries. It
is ideal for unifying our projects under one roof, a
demo site where the many features of socially and ecologically
living can be demonstrated to people in surrounding
regions.
Unity Center USA Eco-Center
The Development of Unity
Center USA is a collaborative process still
in the planning stages. We anticipate that this project
will function as healing center and retreat (ecotourism)
that will also produce a variety of valued added agricultural
products as well as renewable energy by adapting the
Integrated Biomass System to our needs. This system
designed by Dr. George Chan of the Zero
Emissions Research Initiative we believe
has great potential in developing a grass roots approach
to sustainability that is also economically viable.
oneVillage.biz Consulting: Turning
Problems into Solutions
Our activities have focused on tapping into the power
of Silicon Valley as a nexus for
ideas in relation to ICT and also because of its wealth,
which we feel needs to be better directed towards
the development of social enterprises,
organizations that are designed as hybrids of for-profit
and non-profit institutions. We are developing a social
enterprise network that help people to incubuate
their ideas into businesses that can do well financially
while making the world a better place for all of us
to live. The knowledge bases we are developing embrace
the world urgent issues as opportunities, offering
"elegant solutions" to these "problems".

Joy
Tang previously a Cisco Fellow has been
engaging in a proccess of building community over
the last several years. Core to this process has been
the building of the oneVillage Eco-Partner
network. This is the result of several years
of travel and research. One of her goals has been
to create a central space where people can gather
and create community, as represented in the Unity
Center concept, which evolved from what she
learned about Ojishe Houses in Nigeria.
