Programs
The oneVillage Initiative (OVI) approach involves a holistic approach to global sustainable development. The following progams are designed to address key components of that holistic approach:
- EcoLiving Solutions – RESEARCH and DESIGN of Appropriate Technology Best Practices dedicated to maximizing the potential of ICT for Sustainable Development
- EcoTour - Facilitating knowledge sharing between cultures among the youth to enable more throughtful and compassionate SUSTAINABLE development approaches and models.
- Open Digital Villages – Integrating best of breed technologies and practices to empower people in regions of the world with limited digital capacity to make informed and wise decisions that maximize the use of technology and human capacity for improving community prosperity locally and human collective IQ globally.
- UnityDrum addresses the cultural pillar of OVI by showing how people can come together through cultural events and sharings and express their collective IQ in a way that is mutually beneficial and enriching as well as healing
The focus for year 2010 includes developing an online system and process for enabling the effective utilization of ICT within our networks to address World Urgent Issues immediate to one’s respective networks and regions, while still maintaining relevant global links and perspectives.
OVF through the OVI methodology will demonstrate the principles and vision of OVI through the interlinking of the Programs through the OVI Program thus creating synergies between the efforts/ This will show how the effective and well thought out design of an ICT4D strategy can promote sustainable development. This includes the effective use of ICT Web 2.0 tools that empower human networks and realize the goals of oneVillage Initiative.
